Living life on my own terms
I experienced,right,wrong
And everything in-between

Until pains of past mistakes
Made me heed the wisdom of those
Who said "Take a look in the Good book"

The Bible requires a lot of study
It also takes firm commitment to
Creator with faith and trust in Him

Since the Bible cannot be interpreted
Without the help of the Holy Spirit
Belief in God's work is  essential

This causes contention with those
Who say the bible isn't necessary
It can't be understood by many

The Bible is what God chose to make
His plan for humanity understood
It is the testimony of many authors

The authors wrote what they had seen
Also what they had heard of Creator
Over a period of several thousand years

The Old Testament records the acts of Creation
Throughout is the prophetic word of Messiah
Which is completed in the New Testament

The New Testament is from those who lived
With the Messiah, and witnessed all of His
Works, which completes the plan of Creator

Our belief of the Holy spirit in us allows us
To see  what those who don't believe, can't see
Living God's plan goes hand in hand with His book

Luke 24:45 "Then the Holy Spirit opened their
minds,so that they could understand scripture."

We as Authors expect people to hopefully read
and understand our books shouldn't Creator
expect the same from us?

You've raised a good question at the end of this poem. Many people who claim to believe in God but have not really read the Bible yet. However, it is always good to have a believe. I don't know the whole Bible, but I do believe that whenever I pray to God, He always answers my prayers.

Good write, Eileen!!!

It does take discernment, which is a gift from the Holy Spirit, that's why we have to ponder over what we read in the Bible and call on the Holy Spirit to enlighten us.

it can easily be Miss interpreted
some people have been known to commit crimes
because they miss understood what they read!

spot on Eileen, I agree with, one reason some are so mean and selfish is because they don't take time out to understand God's message, hugs
