I flew o'er the mountains
on the wings of the wind
my eyes took me back to
where again, I could  begin
I was living too fast a pace
it kept me from God's grace
I was glad to be reprimanded
given a chance for a new start
I'd rather do what's commanded
Than to die with an empty heart

Being given a chance for a new start is always a wondrous thing.

PS: Please keep an eye on our two brothers while I'm gone; they are rattling their old Ed sabers again, and they're probably gonna need Tiger Lily to bail them out again!

Very well said, Eileen. One with an empty heart could never have written this. God bless my friend.

There is no empty hearts for poets we are full of wants and desires only a poet can understand. As for God we are his hand maidens writing his words upon the celeophane that is life, we may not understand but we obey the command in our heads to put the words to paper! Very nice poem!
