Southern,
He showed me
Warm tangerine light
With slow natural gestures.
A halo to follow
On long winter nights.
I’d sensed scented presence
In air dark as plum
And when I turned around
- yes, I did turn around –
Eyes touched eyes
And palms touched palms
East was a color
We could see in obscurity
My map was completed
yet a door remained open.
Open
Frigid-tale months
(watched in disbelief)
Melted away in seconds
With southern caresses
Wide open
My Sufi wind -
Happy conversations on Rumi heard
When I was ten –
Blowing low
On white walls
Him, my tangerine night.
Your thoughts on a warm wind are ones that express more than the eye sees...I wonder if it would be a warmer wind how the expressions would be...one would probably see more than one sees...
Full of creativity and leaving much to be awed over...the words you've chosen, the way you displayed each one, up against the one before...all coming together to leave me..."Southeast" where "Him...my tangerine night"
So enjoyed~
Love and Peace~

This is WOW! You definitly are being wooed by southeastern, tangerine and marigold evenings and soft days. He has your heart. People from down here can accomplish this without trying. Congrats!

... your concepts in this poem delight my soul, Axilea. Memories are scented for certain sure, reforming in mid-air and reappearing in colours of the mind. This turns my winter into spring. Thank you. Kate xx
This is so beautiful, Axilea. It's so soft with all those "w" and "h" sounds, and a whole lotta alliteration goin' on... You left your heart wide open, and we could see clear through till spring.
