My Baby Girl Poem And Lyrics
It seems
Not long ago
I held you
In my Arms.
As your little hand
Held my big finger.
I knew then,
You were
Daddy’s baby girl.
We have shared
A lot of love together.
A Tomboy at first,
All woman at last
But you were always,
Daddy’s baby girl.
You helped me
Around the farm
In worn blue jeans,
Riding with me
While we harvested.
Then too soon,
You was driving
That John Deere.
We have shared
A lot of love together.
A Tomboy at first,
All woman at last
But you were always,
Daddy’s baby girl.
That my baby girl
Transferred to
A young woman
As a prom princess
With white horse carriage
Cinderella and her
Country Prince Charming
That called me SIR,
Shaking all over.
We have shared
A lot of love together.
A Tomboy at first,
All woman at last
But you were always,
Daddy’s baby girl.
That boy
Still calls me
Sir.
But as I escort
My baby girl
To the alter,
A dad knows,
He will
Take care
Of his baby girl.
Deere Cinderella.
Your wedding carriage
Awaits a father’s tears.
As his baby girl,
Will becomes a mother,
With Granddaddy,
New Tomboy
Grand daughter,
John Deere driver.

Awaits a father’s tears."
Very poignant, David. And I so relate. Connects simply, and directly, with the heart. You have moved this semi-jaded heart of mine unexpectedly. Well done. Enjoyed. r
