I can only love you
With my very heart and soul
I can only give to you
What I have in control

I can only be ME
As simple as the truth
I can be young in spirit
But I no longer have my youth

I cannot give, what is not mine
But, all of mine, is yours
It really has no value
It's worth is nothing more

I cannot devise a purpose
For one, not fully known
But I can tell you secrets
Of how my love has grown

I cannot give you riches
Those mean much less to me
I cannot give you power
For you have it, don't you see?

My quandry, then, appears to be
I ask with heavy sigh
If I can only give myself
Is it enough, and why?

*when moments of self deprication are plaguing the spirit, these questions and more, arise. i hope that the answers are comforting and uplifting...if i were asked the same, i could only answer thusly....you are all i want and your love is a value that is priceless...friend or lover....pauper or king ....love always..k

Well...I don't know why it takes so long for many of us men to learn the real value of these things...but I assure you...some of us do. Excellent write. I love this.
