He ravished me on a red brocade settee,
white wedding dress crumpled on floor.
Eyes locked in lust but neither could see
the reflection of the other to adore.
Cold sensation of skin against skin
and his seed it chilled me deep inside
but if I said I did not want to couple again
I would have surely told a black lie.
Afterwards he dressed me in a red gown
and with a candle held high in his hand
to the cellar steps we descended down
until our feet touched cold stone and sand.
“The sun is coming, time to rest, My Sweet,”
He whispered, slipping shoes from my feet.
On the stone walls flickered candelabra glow.
In the shadows three mahogany coffins stood.
Two were of usual size and I watched him go
opening the sack as carefully as he could.
Dirt taken from my crypt, he lifted coffin lid
and lightly sprinkled some of the soil inside
then on to the double coffin the same he did.
A large satin bed for a fiend and his bride.
“Come Lisette, we rest together by day
while the sun makes his journey cross the sky
and then in the moonlight we rise and play.
We must feed and mere mortals will die.”
We reclined in the coffin, he closed the lid.
Too dead to feel shame for things I did.
LaBelle,
From those great opening words "He revished me..." all the way to the final "Too dead to feel shame for things I did" this is fine sustained writing, for me the most compelling of the journals.

Oooo... the chilling seed made my insides wince. You're good at this, Belle... and I'm rubbish at receiving it. Think I'll just go out in the sun and play xxxxxxxx Forgive me if I skip the Library... xxxx
Chillingly penned horror, La Belle - think I understand the significance of the dirt: a trophy? Or something used to bind them in life and death? Hmmmm. Have to think on that somemore: still, an excellent write, more, please!
Grab those side-irons, saddle up and join former Civil War sharpshooter Luther Henry for a ride into pure terror, western-style…think ‘Wild Wild West’ meets ‘The X-Files’.
Happy Halloween. A volume of Horrible Haunts & Twisted Tales taken from the horror books La Belle Rouge has written every October for a decade and a half. If you have read her works in the horror genre, you know the invitation is for you to enjoy thr
