INCLUDED IN MY BOOK, HAUNTED
This Celtic legend seems to be at another version of the Faustian bargain, the old Biblic prophecy that dealing with the devil (in this case, a vampire) will end badly.
It seems that bloodsucking has become a part of our lore and won't go away with countless vampire stories written.
Although I am of Celtic roots, I was born in Canada and my parents in Brittany, France (Bretons are Celtic people), I do not know much about the history of it all. Thank you for sharing through your verses, Belle. Love and best wishes,
From the land of the wondrous shamrock comes a darkened muse looking for a tortured poet whose next line has eluded him. It has been days now and the young poet is bereft to the point of death. Tears has been his companion as he searches for that next line. Ahhh . . . there appears a dark angel/muse and he readily agrees to her terms in order to comlete this, his very last poem, for although he finished the poem and has the world's adulation he knows nothing of it for he is cowering before the dark muse in her dark lair of poets, half dead just like the fair one from Ireland.
Grab those side-irons, saddle up and join former Civil War sharpshooter Luther Henry for a ride into pure terror, western-style…think ‘Wild Wild West’ meets ‘The X-Files’.
