There are times when love is fierce
like boisterous stormy winds
wild waves pounding sandy shores
roar of thunder ruling the skies
and lightning fearsome bold
when kisses leave us breathless
and touches burn our skin
Love can be gentle, and quiet
a singing brook of emotions
tripping over rocks of devotion
silent cumulus clouds drifting by
snowflakes falling on a white world
memories wrapping us in wool blankets
to warm our hearts and souls
Love is the inquisitive coo of a dove
and the affirmative answer of his mate
the stars slowly appearing at twilight
and fireflies like fairy lights flitting
through the enchanted darkness
while crickets sing their serenades
and the warm darkness surrounds us
Love is wild and love is free
quickened with a storm of passion
subdued with a gentle tranquility
love was created to invigorate all of life
to inspire pen and tongue of bard
to give us a reason for living, love
