Sun And Moon
there have been shooting stars in my sky
burning for a brief moment, streaking
though my heart with white hot flame
setting my universe on fire with fervor
but you…. you are the sun and moon
when the sea of stars parted you were there
across the universe I rushed to your side
bright warmth of a spring day in april
silver ambiance of moonlit summer night
no trepidation the sun won’t rise tomorrow
or the moon fail to appear in his set course
you… you are constant love and devotion
meteoric arcs; hesitant glances showering romance
you the defining essence holding my love in your heart
a solid rock in your soul and character
the shoulder I lean on, sun of my dark days
comfort and strength to the weary and sad
no comet, here one minute …. gone the next
milky way clouds shroud divine moments from
jealous eyes our passion living on a polar tightrope,
nothing to hold to but each others hand, balanced,
with light and hope
