I recall how books and movies made other eras and places come to life. With our smart phones we can take pictures and videos of what’s happening in our lives and through our writing elaborate even more. Why I encourage those who say, “I want to write the story of my life.” I even helped a friend get through a long novel about his great great grandfather who served the Union army from his state of Ohio by joining the Calvalry in West Virginia and finishing the battles of the war. He shared the man’s emotional was when his trusted horse died. Reflecting his own affection for his two Appaloosas that he has already left behind when he died three years ago.
