I wouldn't die for anything,
For that you can be sure.
I wouldn't die or the mad man,
That came beating down my door.
I wouldn't die for hate or envy,
Especially not for lust.
I wouldn't die for anything,
That's labeled a must.
I wouldn't die for happiness,
I wouldn't die for fear.
I wouldn't die for a priest,
If he ever showed up here.
I wouldn't die for a savior,
Or for my own mother,
I wouldn't die for a killer,
Or to save another.
But that day in the hospital bed,
The day that you were born,
They gave me a decision,
And between two lives I was torn.
So I closed off all my pain,
And I closed off all my fear,
And I told them let me die,
As long as she is here.
On that surgical table,
The anesthesia clouded my mind.
The whole world forgotten,
Not a regret left behind.
The only thing in this world,
That is so right and true .
I wouldn't die for anything,
But I would die for you...
