Faceless evening shadows...
A red leaf falls Cut loose by the wind Brown heifers low Within stone walls Another night nears Hidden crickets chirp Two Texas steers Watch fowls come home Faceless evening shadows Begin their slow waltzes One two three, one two three Finally it's yours-- That face I begin To see.

Love the way you set the mood in this poem, Randall...fields , shadows, cow's bay and crickets...peace and country and the potential for romance.

I too enjoyed this poem. There's a bit of smallness we feel in Nature, yet we see the person we care for and our smallness isn't so small.
