I'm with Ralph Waldo Emerson, who way back in 1875 wrote the following words in the preface to his work *Parnassus*: "Poetry teaches the enormous value of a few words, and, in proporion to the inspiration, checks loquacity."
Another thing, I like reading free verse, just so long as it distinguishes itself from "cut-up prose" with the use of apt, fresh imagery.
Laura, for the above reasons (mainly), your poem appealed to my senses and touched my emotions. You did it all with a certain style and, of course, with brevity.
