The Urgency of Hunger
One can find me in the shadows
Lurking just around the corner
Watching silently from high ground
Until the moment is perfect
… To strike.
The hunger, why do thee not understand?
The urge to hunt the night
Quench this thirst until dawn’s new light!
This beast which hides within me
She seeks release
… Needing to feed.
And what would the world say
If the hunter fell in love
With what thy hunts?
Would they guffaw
Or run in terror?
… Of what might become.
I can see thee there
Thy outline plain as day
To these eyes o’ mine
Thy fear washes over me
… Temptation!
O’ how I long
To drink from thy fount!
The urge is too great
I must pounce!
Swiftly, I am there
By thy side, whispering
Delicate skin upon mine lips
… Divine!
Thee becomes lost in swoon
Fall into mine arms
Let me free thy mind
Thy very soul
… Flood into me!
So sweet is thy life
As it crosses mine lips
Let me lose myself
In thy dying thoughts
… so that I might die with you.
