Love’s Dreamstate
But what am I without mine words?
As this pen doth write in blood,
Given thy mine heart, I have, in prose
And in Love. Speak not now of what might
Be, one day, in our lives. Yet we seek
Higher ground upon which to tread so
Softly! Carry me now, within thy arms,
Full of love, full of strength. May thy angel’s
Wings carry us above the clouds, above the pain,
Which plague our troubled hearts in life.
Thou art a prize to be held in great esteem,
Lingering upon the breezes that play with mine
Hair so tenderly. Whisper now, thy words of Love,
Terms of endearment to wash this dying soul of
Mine in waves of light and joy. Whisk me
From this stony ground upon which I slowly
Tread, trudging alone at a snail’s pace in life.
How I yearn to stand upon the tallest mountain,
Shout to the world the Love I feel for thee!
To let the world know how this heart o’ mine
Feels, yet in shadows I must keep my peace.
Speak not now of that forbidden truth, the very one
We walk circles round. I might just be dreaming,
Perchance, I lest not be waken.
