I am still unsure if I should use the word 'whole' at the end or perhaps the word 'complete'.
How I long to hear the beat of thy heart
as I lay mine head upon thy chest. To
inhale deeply, breathe in thy scent and
become intoxicated. If only I could look
into thine eyes, become lost in all that is
thee and drown within thy soul.
Then I would know that I am whole.
I think the word "complete" give it a nice ring...don't you think...say it loud..then you will know!!

I think that longing can provide at least an illusion of wholeness until lover and beloved are united. It's sort of the same with faith. It makes up the distance between mere belief and knowledge. Just some thoughts you inspired.
