Found a typo after rereading this ... first stanza had 'he' instead of 'she' oops!
As twilight fell, she rose from her darkened slumber
to find that the lock had been picked again. It seems
to her there was someone lurking, skulking around her
abode as she slumbered. His scent hung upon the air
like a fine wine, and she inhaled deeply. Yet, she did
wonder if this invader knew what she was after ...
Down the hallway, the big clock ticked away the minutes
as she made her way through the shadows to evaluate
the premises for any looting. Why anyone would want to
steal from this place, she could not understand. There
was nothing to steal, nothing but her place of refuge from
the daylight.
As the last of the day's light slips down below the horizon,
the stars start to come out like tiny little diamonds. Her
blood burns now, signalling the time to hunt. This is the
hour she's always enjoyed most, the dawn of night as it
the dying day gives into darkness.
She stops by a window and looks out, watching the tree
branches dance in the breeze. The sky holds a waxing
gibbous moon as if it were a silver ornament. A smile
crosses her lips in a most gentle fashion, that is, until
a scratching catches her attention.
Just outside the balcony door stood a shadow, backdropped
by the trees moving restlessly. Perhaps they sensed the
impending doom of the danger this lurked now faces. She
could smell the anxiety upon the air as it permeates her
senses. This does excite her for the fear can make the treat
taste so much sweeter, especially if they struggle ...
It was if he wanted to be caught! There was fear mixed with
heated excitement radiating from him. This heat that rose
from him seemed to kindle a fire deep within her, for her
body burned for his touch. A need to be pleasured by fingers,
lingering kisses placed upon delicate spaces began to
overwhelm her thirst for life. Perhaps this was no ordinary
man who came lurking about her sanctuary after all ...

Powerfully sensual. You have a knack for pulling the reader gently into the realms of your characters.
