The was a light that did shine so very bright within this heart,
yet now it fades with the waning sun as twilight births a new
night once more. I lay to rest all that was beautiful, as love
slowly dies, withers like a rose cast out of the garden before
its time.
Thy words no longer grace these weary eyes and it seems
that my time is no more, as thy wanders away, two paths
separating slowly. I die inside, each new day and the will
to continue on slips on the rocks that line the shore.
These are treacherous waters, the rapids that do flow here,
running that reckless pace so frantic as they course through
my shrinking veins. I realize now, as I give unto thee my
undying love, that I no longer need thee in this life. Or so
I tell myself, pretending that such things be true . I weep now
for what I've seemingly lost, but tis something I never had
and never will.
I wrote this novel several years ago, I self published and never had it to sell. I have decided to rewrite it and hope to get it published within a few months for people to be able to buy. I had a few copies and gave them to a few family members and
