I’ve wandered in darkness for
What seems like so long. Heartache,
Lurking the shadows, clinging to life
And hoping it would all just fade
Away. Until, one fateful day, into
My life thou hath come. Brought me
Into the light thy have! Shed light
Upon my dying soul, showing me
That there is so much more out there.
Oh, the darkness still remains, an ever
Watchful creature it is. Waiting for
The moment in which to pounce, to
Bring back the shadows to my heart.
I am a new born babe, needing to be
Cradled safely within the arms of love.
Let not this bough break! But I know
That in time, if this heart should
Break, it shall one day bounce back
From the shadows and the darkness
That is ever willing to consume me.
I murmur thy name to the night, knowing
That somewhere, out there in the world,
thee reside. But furthermore, thy sit within
My heart, nestled all nice and snug and I
Cradle thee within my arms, gently. For
This new found glory I wish not to lose,
So gentle arms I do use! Tread softly upon
The sands, never speaking but always feeling
Those emotions that radiate new life. Thou
Art always there, in my thoughts, perhaps
Even in my dreams. The nightmares have
Dissipated and I’m left refreshed come morn,
Waking with sweet thoughts of thee. O’ how
I miss thee! Yet, then there thou art be, sifting
Shadows within waking dreams. A little more
Each day, as we travel this well worn path.
Eerily familiar, yet so very new, this camaraderie
We share. Have we walked this path before,
Thee and I? I do wonder, and always shall, for
Thy soul fits so well with me. So many dreams
For us to share, so many fears that disappear when
Thee shares moments with me. Whisper to the
Winds, I do, at times, wondering if somewhere,
Out there, this quiet voice travels to thine soul.
Yet, somehow, I doth know this to be true . And
I sit in awe as to what we are. These emotions,
They seem to have always been there, in the
Shadows of the soul, and of the heart. Lying
In wait for the perfect moment to cause that
Spark. The very one that now grows so slowly
Into an ever burning flame, one so tiny. It has
Always been there, in my heart. Sometimes,
There are no words that need to be spoken.
Thy doth make me shine! This heart sings
With joy and the light is ever full of warmth.
But ever careful are my steps, in fear that if
I should pour forth my heart, this might all
Just crumble into the dark. Yet, I care not!
I wish to climb the highest mountain and
Shout to the world what grows within my heart.
But whisper I shall, to the winds that blow,
For they carry upon them, my words to thy soul.
