I see you the way others don’t
Or possibly won’t
For example,
You have this way of curling your toes,
under your feet,
Then planting them on my lap.
I like that and love you because that’s the way you are.
But.
We were headed out
On another rainy Alaskan night,
On the way you went into a mild panic,
Why?
On our way to dinner you remembered too late
That you left your house keys on top of your car,
Locked warmly in your garage.
And.
It was cold, a mild snow and lots of rain
Two locksmiths in town and their cell phones
Were turned off…go figure.
The.
Night seemed ruined, detracted
On a Saturday night in Ketchikan,
But then you smiled and said;
“I have a plan, let’s eat and enjoy, then we’ll work it out.”
Way.
Too late to turn around, remember…
The dinner was fair, the play,
Well it is small town community-theater,
You can’t be too hopeful, can you?
You.
Smiled as we pulled in your driveway
I said, “What’s next?”
You said, “Walk me to the door”
Which I did, then you said with this evil little grin,
Which you display so well, “Kick it in!”
“Are.
You nuts?” I asked, and then I said “step back”
Surprisingly with one swift kick, the door flew open.
And you went straight away to the garage to fetch your keys
For a moment though, we met in the darkened dining room
and you said, ever so softly and delicately as we embraced…”Thank you”
I like the way you are tonight
In the cold Alaska moonlight.
I like the way you are;
Sexy yet sensational,
Welcoming and warm,
Loving and kind,
Caring and consoling.
And one feisty broad, too.
I like the way you were as we walked this summer
Around the lake, three times, then three times more.
I like the way you are, tonight, tomorrow and forever.
I love these rainy Alaska nights and the beauty you pen into them. Excellent! One is taken for a journey, and are made glad they took the trip. Well done.
A search for the ghost of a chorus girl chorine haunting a costume designer’s Manhattan apartment leads to an encounter with an eccentric, mischievous witch with the ability to send folks back through time…in this case, the 1919 Ziegfeld Follies.
