The Weight of you Upon My Soul

A personal note: this poem and "Drifting" were written on the same
day and hopefully my writing muse will allow me to move on to more cheerful pens. Every writer that spends any time at all in bettering their craft will experience a wide and varied sea of emotions; that is the tool that we use to express ourselves.

The Weight of you upon my Soul

© 2007

Dan Johnson

The weight of you upon my soul

Makes me tremble,

love faintly resembles,

love now gone bad,

What we once declared.

But:

My heart is heavy now,

feels Like a broken levy and

I’m drowning deeper,

Every breath I take has,

the weight of you upon my soul.

When:

My eyes grow dim

With the memory of time now past, and

Visions of love now gone bad,

We sinned…you win, I’m

So very lost and each day

I carry the weight of you upon my soul

People say it is cathartic to write about our emotions and once on paper we can be freer and clear our minds. Excellent subject and write.

A basket of painful thoughts. But we tend to grow and flurish even with the heartbreaks. Nicely done.

Like the soul converted in a piece of paper being ripped apart, piece by piece for the benefit of sadness.
The words are crying.
