Gone, Gone, Gone

Standing in the middle of the street
Minds spinning one hundred
miles per hour
But I cannot...move my lifeless feet…
I’m gone, gone, gone
Like a bird on it’s wing
Like a song I’ve got to sing
I’m gone now,
And I cannot wait to go.
Tossing and turning
through a sleepless night
Visions of pain,
questions of being considered...quite insane
Don’t think I know wrong from right…
So, I’m gone, gone, gone
Like a bird on it’s wing
Like a song I’ve got to sing
I’m gone now,
And I cannot wait to go.
Things are fuzzy,
not sure of the day,
feels like I'm floating
in some mystical way...now watch...as I quietly go.

Gone Gone Gone -- yup - so much of it. All the verses are great but this one grabbed me - like a first stanza should.
Standing in the middle of the street
Minds spinning one hundred
miles per hour
But I cannot...move my lifeless feet…

And I cannot wait to go.
I know the feeling well!
A fifty years younger sweet thing still arouses us and we find out that, after all, we aren't so gone, gone, gone.
A demented poem from a sane poet, or it is the other way around?
Great.
