This is true. Though I'm certainly NOT all-knowing, my personal experience has shown that when the simplest needs are met, like having a place to call your own,(regardless the rent or buy issue) having food to eat and having someone to love, everything can somehow fall into place. A lesson I remind myself of regularly, by the way....

Very well written Dan, although I have always thought we go through life and there is reason for everything we see and go through, that doesn't make it easy ir right and yes thousands of times I ask why and will continue to wonder about the hunger, greed and why man has ruined our planet earth. "What" is the beginning, "how," "where" and "when," are the mechanics, and "why" grasps at the ends of wisdom. Research the predicates to find the ends. Good job of nominating subjects to illuminate with your "whats" and "whys."

Something I have to say that bothers me is how many people I hear at the grocery store with a basket full complaining about having to stand in line for more than three minutes.
We think we have it so bad, having to wait and people are starving everywhere. Sheesh.....

Your answer is correct. In very well chosen words, you've asked the question of the ages. And, yes, it is traceable back to the individual, and then to his village, and on up to the leaders of his nation. The chief problem is usually the chief. Greed and empire building cannot be overcome and made to conform until the subjects of the Chief are able to act democratically.

The answers to the other questions might be found in that only half of the earth's nations and population are able to sustain their populations. China's limit of two babies per couple has failed terribly. I suspect that we are to far advanced to understands starvation, dying when young, and war lord that rape their own countries. Health care? I love doctors, especially when I need them, but they, too, want more money and the good life. The cure for that one is Government doctors, and their training with US funds with great penalties if they don't serve a term paying it all back.
and, even that might fail, seeing them go out on their own.

The why's and where for's still don't feed the hungry and as a nation we can't do it by ourselves. It is a global problem and wars create a lot of it but if you can't plant crops it will continue forever.

Certainly a different perspective on today's constant questions of "why" I hope it is widely read.

Exactly correct, Dan. We have about 6.4 billion individuals on this planet, each one free to choose well-being for self and loved ones. Sure, it would be "chaos" (just like nature is chaos). The blue-sky politicians would have to find a real job.

It has to do with our individual survival.

I believe your perspective has much merit, Dan, because I truly believe that modern mankind has become very 'self centered.' Most humans today worry about 'me' not 'us' or 'them.' And for many, if the 'me' can be satisfied, little else seems to matter. What's in it, for 'me?'

And I wonder if we can ever really get back to a place of 'we' again.
