I was on the campus of Lane Community College, in Eugene, Oregon, along with two friends and they wanted to show me something added to the campus, since I had last visited...it is called the Labyrinth...dlj

Labyrinth

Dan Johnson

This was not a dream, and it was not drug induced.
On this cold December afternoon
On a college campus, I, along with two friends,
Took a short but memorable journey through a labyrinth.

The journey is to follow a red brick road
To the center of the universe, quietly, reflectively,
Floating towards the center, while in a temporary state of meditation.

As the path goes one way then comes back, it leaves the feeling
That you know you are going to uncharted places, but all sense of direction is gone.
Stil, you know you are moving ever closer toward the center.

One direction corrected by moving in the
Opposite, indeed, I was traveling through
A labyrinth of introspection, ever forward,
Ever towards the mystic, spirit centered middle universe.

There we stood, three of us, visitors to a place where
things can be left, the disposal of heavy stuff; burdens, questions
in addition, yes, sometimes receiving answers.

One of my friends asked me if I felt a change and in my tell it
Like it is mode, I said I didn’t feel much different than when this
Journey began.  Then it struck me not long after leaving the campus
That my fifteen minutes within the labyrinth lifted my soul.  But I still had questions.

Dan we have a Labyrinth put in the back of our church and I have taken the time to do the walk with friends. I do believe you get more out of it when done alone.

Thank you for sharing.

How very interesting, to reach the center and walk away feeling the reality of a better mode, as if weights have been lifted to set your spirit free....

Be safe,
Karen

I've yet to circumnavigate the bony portals; wonder if it's any better than a good meditation. Thanks for sharing.

David,
Just having fifteen minutes of an uplifted soul, stays with you for ever! You are still talking about it, so that feeling is still with you.
Peace, Love, and Light,

On another day, at another time, with a different person(s), you will have a totally spiritual experience..... I betcha'! It's all in the mood one might be having, and in whaat we are seeking. How much does it cost to hitchhike out there from Georgia? I'd love to enter and let it take over my life and limbs... and, perhaps, my soul, for the walking! Can't wait ! ! ! - Bill
