THE FOLLOWING POEM IS JUST THAT, A POEM. IT IN NO WAY IS A DEPICTION OF MY LIFE AND DOES NOT MEAN IN ANY WAY THAT I AM DEPRESSED, CAUSE' I'M NOT...IT IS JUST WHAT MY PERVERTED MUSE DICTATED THIS MORNING-DLJ

Meet Me
© 2008
Dan Johnson

When I feel lost and confused,
fumbling and most certainly,
stumbling through the living room of life.
Meet me, please, won’t you meet me,
I’m so damned tired of feeling used
just like worn out furniture
in a nondescript corner,
of an unremarkable room
in this house called life.

When I’m in the hallway between rooms,
meet me, let me look at you, guide me,
I don’t want to wander into the kitchen, stop me!
That’s where knives and weapons exist
to cut me into pieces,
I need you to meet me, to keep me… whole.
until then, all you see is the dark half of me.

When I first looked into your soothing eyes,
they calmed my fears,
made my sadness disappear,
that is what your love did to me,
now, meet me in the bedroom of my soul,
where you make those bad
dreams fade away.
Meet me, see the whole of me…
please meet me!

So glad you are o.k. and it's o.k. for these thoughts to enter at any time. I personally had a dream last night I got a little car that would not go far and had to keep adding gas to it. It was a jazzy car and wasn't worth what I paid for it. Such dreams that come to me. You expressed your write very well, so glad it is not true of you personally. **********

I once knew that feeling very well, both at home and on the job. Thank God, those days are over for me.

Thanks for the warning up there, sometimes our poems are taken literally as a personal tragedy, or depression, or...you know.
But the poem depict those emotional turmoils that overwelm us from time to time.
Well done! ! !
