Poetry Girl
Part 1
Dan Johnson
© 2008

Oh, there you go
Spinning my head in
A dizzy whirl,
Now I’m Hoping, praying,
That all this turning,
Twisting, flipping
Will take me to the heart
And soul of the poetry girl.

Your sweet flowing words
Is a dance in my lovesick head.
Feeling passion grow
is a
Gourmet meal on which
I’m fed the love
Of the poetry girl.

Your verse, smooth as silk
And filled with romantic taunts,
Keeps me close to you,
Yes!
You are the poetry girl,

Senses drive hard
I have not felt this way since
I cannot tell you when.
But this I know,
You are my poetry girl.

Dan Johnson

Beautifully twirly and feel-goody, Dan! I like this jive-writing - kinda reminds me of an upbeat and pulsing Cinnamon Girl from Neil Young and has all the mystery and fascination of "how many angels dance upon a pinhead" kinda thing... Goodness knows what my Earl Grey Tea has got in it this afternoon... Perhaps I'm just swayed, too, by all the kittenish inquisitiveness in comment beneath me, too! Carefree and full of joie de vivre. C'est la passion de la poesie! Many of us are bitten that way! :)) xx

I know a "poetry girl" or two and they never have to write a single word to express exquisite feminine poetry. Thanks for sharing, Dan. Love and peace to you,

Regis

Dan, this is wonderfully romantic, and I have my eyes on BOTH of you. Neither could do better in the eyes of this old poet, and here's my vote for more and more of the same. - Bill

Dan,

Ah, phoo. With all the spinning/twirling/turning/twisting/flipping, thought the poetry girl you were penning was the StormSpinner. LOL (Just kidding) Any girl would be honored to have a poem written about them by you. You're terrific!! Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
