Shadow Woman
© 2008
Dan Johnson

She stands in the darkest recesses of my mind
In haunting places,
In those black over gray, places I do not like to go,
Places void of
Good times,
Fond memories,
Pleasant days,
Loving nights
All places where bad times remain, even now,
And always when I yearn for freedom,
I find the shadow woman,
The one I cannot leave behind.

Some memories cannot be left behind.

Memories for good or bad, remain with us forever. A very truthful and insightful poetic statement of fact, Dan.

memories, live with us always -- they dwell in that area of,"black over gray" -- irretrievably lost in the march of times past, yet alive in our mind -- may peace and love be always with you -- JMW

True, some memories can't be left behind, because they will be following you like an unwanted but faithfully companion.

Oh oh, here she comes again :-)

BTW, I am totally enjoying "Writing Down The Words," especially the bright and fresh things by the kids. In their young naivete, their wisdom shines.
