I can't get the 'blues' outta my head-dlj

 Another Quiet Dawn
Dan Johnson
© 18 December, 2012

Can’t sleep a wink, can’t think, Can’t recall what put me in this mess
All I know is…
Quiet is the night, quiet and long, sitting here wondering, what went wrong? I said something…you did too, problem is, I don’t remember a thing we said, praying it’s that way with you?

I know, this sounds like another ‘lost love song,’ I’m sitting here without you. It’s only loneliness and me, facing another quiet dawn.

Just peeked out the window, snow’s falling, fast, like a freight train of memories I’m recalling the love we professed.

Quiet is the night, I was wrong…you were right, outside snow’s still falling on the lawn, Inside, I’m sitting here wishing/hoping/praying for your return, suffering through another very lonely and quiet dawn.

How many wars have been fought by combatants who have forgotten the causes? We want what we want, and in time forget exactly what it is we wanted in the first place, and leave a trail of emotional destruction behind.
