Dear Children

This is a letter that I wrote to my unborn children and it's in my book, called, "Living with Victory After Past Mistakes."

This is a letter that I shared in my book, "Living with Victory After Past Mistakes.  One of my mistakes was aborting my two children.

Dear Children,             
                                                                              
 
To the children               
I did not let live.   
 
To the children
I chose not to have.   
 
To the children
Whose life I did not give
 
To the children
I sent to an early grave 
 
Mommy is so sorry.
I never even gave you all a name. 
 
It could have been Da’von or D’Laurie. 
Mommy doesn’t know if you were girls or boys.
 
I know you must think I am a bad mommy,
because I do too.
 
As the doctor scraped you from my inside walls,
I clenched with pain and not joy knowing that my children were being torn to pieces. 
 
   
I did not even see my precious little ones faces. 
Neither will your nephews or nieces. 
 
If it’s any consolations 
Mommy can’t hurt any more babies. 
Satan made sure of that. 
 
I thank God he was there for my surgery
when the doctor had to remove my womb. 
 
I’m sorry I could not hold your little hands.
I couldn’t hear your cries, 
but I know your pain was great. 
 
Just thinking of you little ones,
bring tears to my eyes.
I know deep down I will never know my babies smell. 
 
Because of me, 
My precious babies you did not get to share your smiles with your two other brothers, nor can grandma share your joys.
 
The pit of my stomach has this funny feeling  that something hideous was done. 
 
It should be a crime
To do such a thing.
 
God said thou shall not kill.  
Now satan wants to locks my mind.
Oh, God! What have I done? 
 
He has the key but he wants me to pay. 
He plays in my mind…
go insane and do your time.
 
My precious children that were given by God, but I had an ungrateful heart
and I chose to give you back. 
 
I miss you each and if I could do it again 
I would choose your life instead of your death. 
 
 
Rest in peace my little angels
may God continue to give you all the love
that mommy chose to throw away. 
 
From the mommy you never had. 
I love you so much.

This poem is one that truly tells what it is like about loosing a child through abortion. Even though I am a male, I can fell the trauma of the one losing the child and the pain of never seeing life outside the womb. Very heartfelt as I share all those unborn children pain.

Wow, I felt really sad for you when reading this. I am an abortion survivor and have gone through post-abortion syndrome, and hearing this made me remember the pain I went through before dealing with the after effects. I went to confession with an amazing priest and he really made me see things in a different way about forgiveness, forgiving myself as God has mercy on us. The healing is a rough road, and sadly, not everyone gets the help they need, and people on the outside looking in have no clue what we go through. Two great organizations are "I regret my abortion" which Martin Luther King Jr.'s daughter started and "Rachel's Vineyard," both very helpful. Reading this poem, I'm sure, had to touch a lot of people. Those who have been or currently going through a similar situation. It makes you think... but even more so..... it makes you feel. You feel the sadness, the regret, the anxiety that goes through a mother's mind. The emotions you stir may prevent this from happening to future potential mothers, it's quite a bit of luggage to carry through your life. There is another story to be told here, from the dad's point of view. Not all men are cold and callous when it come this, they may not lay on the table but they too share some of the pain, sadness and regret. You deeply displayed and touched an emotion. Very Good. Job Well Done.
