She waits alone in the Secret Garden of her mind, waiting for the man of her dreams to come and steal her away.

She waits alone, her solitude cloaks her like a shroud,
Her tears silently fall, her pain isn't expressed out loud.
She is a sad womanchild, who is always left behind,
She dwells in the Secret Garden of her mind.
She hides secrets behind a Mona Lisa smile,
She has endured life's storms and trails.
She has secretly given her heart to one special man,
She wishes to be treasured and have a gentle man who understands.
He does not know he has her heart, this another secret to keep,
Fear of his unreturned love, makes her weep.
She seeks solace in her lap of need, alone in a chair,
She must dwell in a place where she is unloved and no one cares.
Will the one who possesses her heart, find her and save the day?
Will he want and love her enough to come and steal her away?

As you think of his eyes
In light turn your way
In your secret garden

She should look at the sky over the mountain peaks and read the message hold by those smoke puffs from a sad Sioux that can't be there but had asked the Great Spirit of Manitu to dry those tears and put a smile in her face anytime she remembers him.

SC this is one of your ultimate sad but sweet romance writes, it is almost sensual in the way the subject's mind loves and desires an unrequited love that may or may never happen. I love it.

You sound so very meloncholy. Why do you wait? I never waited nor did I look for, just allowed life to run its course. Guess I just got lucky late in life....

Be safe,
Karen

SC,
I know too well where this woman child dwells. I waited two years, and then gave up and now I am free to be a woman for a real man..So my dear, don't dwell too long, you might miss out on a real man for you the beautiful Southern Comfort. This is a beautiful poem SC
