When viewed through The Eyes Of Love, we are forever beautiful and forever young.
The map of her face, he gently charts with eager fingertips,
He finds the lush oasis and passionately kisses her lips.
He surveys the aqua, limpid pools and drowns willingly in her eyes,
He sees the lines of time that make-up can't disguise.
Oh Yes, he has viewed it time after time, the map of her face,
But it always makes him catch his breath, he is smitten by her style and grace.
Some deem the Mona Lisa the perfect work of art,
But it is his woman's face that has captured his heart.
The fine lines around her eyes, are shadows of a fleeting smile,
Lines are Father Time's toll for walking Life's miles.
So don't took for this traveler to wander too far from home,
For the map of her face is his favorite place to roam.
So much shared in your words Sweet SC

A persons face can tell you so much about where they have been in life , happy or sad good times or bad, if we look deep enough.
Thank you for sharing. I hate when someone says guess my age because you can't always do that by looking in ones face.
Beauty can hold so many things, then again, a beauty face can be that of the owner of the hand holding the poisoned apple.
When a less gracious face could be hiding a soul of gold.

Beautiful concept to soothe the fears of aging woman. The face of a dearly loved one is beautiful.
I love your analogy of the map, and especially the last few lines.

You've brought tears to my eyes my friend...such a gentle, touching, and romantic write...tenderly written from a compassionate heart. I think this is every woman's desire to have her special someone to feel this way about her, reminds me of my grandparents who died within a week apart, one died of complications, the other of a broken heart...after sixty three years one could not live without the other...thank you my friend for such a beautiful poem and a sad, but wonderful trip down memory lane....

Wonderfully romantic and sweet... a lover's face is our best retreat, understanding and loving eyes that accept us, even in our defeat. To see with one's heart always makes our lover shine, not matter the years or aging lines.
