Tears In A Wishing Well

He was a dreamer looking for his dream and found her at a wishing well.

A dreamer threw a coin in a wishing well and as it flew,
He noticed tears silently hitting the water from eyes of aqua blue.
The beauty of the maiden, took his breath away,
Should he speak and disturb this vision, or just let time play?
He decided to remain silent and just drink in the beauty,
He felt to be witness to her splendor, was his duty.
Her eyes beheld his reflection, mirrored in the sparkling pool,
The moment left him breathless, he became a trembling fool.
She stood and kissed a coin and threw it in the air,
It soon joined other coins, under the water glistening there.
She gazed at the coin, as though it was her last hope,
If her wish was not granted, she could no longer cope.
He could stand it no longer, rushed to her side,
He gathered her closed within his arms and she softly sighed.
" What did you wish for?", he asked, looking into her eyes of aqua blue,
She spoke only one word," You!"

I love "love at first sight" stories and I often wonder if we acted more on our natural impulses when it came to love would the world not be a better place.

Nobody has toss a coin in that well wishing for me, but it must be a fortune in pennies down there, I should know, after all I did toss them there.

The wistful yearning of the two is so touching. You timed everything in perfect pitch. Hooked me in and I held my breath until she spoke...You. Awesome. Liz
