About my grandma's quilt that my sister got after she died last year.
Grandma Henry’s Quilt
Each square, sewn by hand.
Two to three pieces of cloth, all the way through, very fine yet thick too!
Some Star-Shapes are from old shirts!
The quilt is intricately woven and detailed; star-stitching and shapes for a King Size bed! Must have taken a Year to Complete!
This Quilt means the WORLD to me since my Grandma passed away over a year ago on June 21st, 2003.I feel loved and protected whenever I sleep with that quilt, which is every night, since Julie brought it back from Grandma’s estate.

Like going back in time, when more families were closer..

Oh Becca this is so heart touching, I have one my mother made and one her mother made and yes I understand how precious that quilt is to you. Lovely poem.
My Grandma's quilt is hanging on a quilt rack next to my writing desk. Every square of fabric tells a tale...it either came from one of my baby dresses, her dresses, old doll dresses...all woven into the most delicious wedding ring pattern. She left quilts to the other granddaughters...but I am the envy of us all, as mine is the most precious, personal, and colorful. I miss her every day of my life. Grandma's are wonderful. Thank you Becca for this sweet glimpse into your Grandma's gift too.
