A silly, off the top of my head at almost 1am sort of poem :)

Because tomorrow isn’t soon enough

I’m writing this today

because feelings like this tend to cower

in the light of day

and when the words hang in your throat

pressing to come out

but muffled are they in a box

it makes you want to shout

words and more words - there never is enough

to tell you what I’m getting at

it seems these days is tough

so instead of wrestling them till morning

in the comfort of my bed

I state them right here, right now

on this blank screen instead

that the sight of you makes my life

blast off like shooting stars

the way you speak though oh so brief

is a deep music from afar

your face, your nose, and I bet your toes

are too loveable to mention

but it was with that brain of yours

that you really got my attention

yes, the stomach and the barer spots

the years and tears I shed

are all just what I was looking for

within those books I read

I never asked for this,

please understand,

it landed in my lap,

but now that I have ventured here

I no longer need a map

I know the way to please my heart

by being with you, it’s true ,

so now I am off the bed for sure,

to dream of times with you.

Sweet sentiments, Michelle. Hopefully the intended recipient is hugely grateful of such attention. Do you mean "off to bed" in the second last verse? Or am I missing some intended poetically-licensed nuance? In any event, this is a fine expressive write at any time, never mind that it was written at one o'clock in the morning. Thank you. Love, hugs and best wishes,

Regis

Well you wrote this at 1ish and I am reading it at6ish so it is fresh off the press of mind and soul. Often what cannot be said is heard loud and clear and the person or persons unknown you wrote this for I have no doubt knows how much you care, as for being silly...no such thing in love.
hugs
