I'm drinking
dark rum
in the quiet hours
before dusk fall

listening to all the
hubbub
hearing every shred
of sliced up conversations

doing the
neighbor's wife
choking the neighbor's
dog's barking
in its own blood
bending the sky
in every direction
like in a dream

I'm drinking
tan rum
in the fleeting moments
before dark falls

savouring the peace
of backyard fantasies
played out in
full syncopation
with the uselessness
of next door wisdom

I'm drinking
black rum
and she's taking
pictures of

my baldness
my crafty scribbling
and the ghost of
writing this
without anymore distractions


- ACT 2 -


kitchen light
blindness
burns holes
in the garden furniture

something's dripping
with deafening results
7 small round candles
breathe through flames
before me

a late supper
of barbecued hogwash
smells of deeper meaning
if I agreed with it

ADHD frogs
chant a well known
aria

and the glass
is dry again


- ACT 3 -


camouflaged meows
blend exceptionally well
with shadows
of different shapes

caressing the night air
with softness
with tact

if nothing else
they paint a pretty
hairy picture

as the moon peeks in
from out the
flat rooftops

and an improvised
quarrel
breaks out
from the adjacent
backyard

ruining the moment
and gambling with

my patience
the effort
and my thirst.
