Poem Artwork

Deep within the thunderous roar
I ride out storm, separation.
In crackling skies, emerald green,
find my love’s true exclamation.

Consider gentle rain tonight
these aging hands that would caress,
and fragrance carried on cool wind
as kisses meant to heal and bless.

As you walk barefoot on wet grass
feel solid ground that I would be.
When you hear lonely nightingale,
know you are my soul’s reverie.

Parched field forgives the blazing sun
once watered with grace from above;
know life is meant to grow again
within hearts deadened once to love.

Awake then, love, to morning breeze.
Breathe deeply of Earth’s joy, rejoice.
In melodious songbird calls
hear tone, character of my voice.

And if in rising moon you glimpse
shadows of midnight summer’s dream,
meet me in starry firmament
to slide on silvery moonbeam.

To hear effervescent laughter
bubbling forth from sweet parted lips!
And that you might see, touch deep wounds,
read heart’s intent with fingertips.

Should you retreat to world of sleep
I’ll be in close proximity,
praying in my garden that you
might know of my sincerity.

This is just beautiful, Dawn. I especially like this line:
"And that you might see, touch deep wounds,
read heart’s intent with fingertips."
A gorgeous piece. Thank you.

Dawn~ this is nature-personified. Beautiful! a soft and yet textured rendering of all we are from beginning to end. " . . . as you walk barefoot on wet grass feel solid ground that I would be . . ." I really like those two lines Dawn. Each speaks to me in such thought provoking ways. And the next walk in the rain, I'll remember your lovely words. Thanks for the offering. And it's a pleasure meeting you this way. I'll return for more.

Keep illuminating, bringing forth ways in which we all can see a little bit clearer.

honored,
marion
