Sour back and other pains.

Friends!

Many of you know that I've been straying a lot due to finishing my second novel. I wrote the last line about three weeks ago and promised my return to the den, but again I failed you.
I decided my stategy of book publishing had to change, and started with more extensive proof reading. Today, after yet another marathon day of 18 (!!!) hours in front of the computer, I finally finished my proof reading project and actually still have the air to compose this silly little poem well beyond midnight.
I appreciate your support very much and be assured, that I miss each and everyone of you tremendously!

Relieved I sit back.
Cross eyed and tired
just wanna hit the sack.
The screen seems to swim...
my back’s stiff, my neck hurts and I feel like a wimp.

The last sentence I wrote
three weeks ago,
but since then I’ve been busy,
always on the go-go-and go.

Proofreading is such a tedious task,
I wish I could drown my pain in a flask.
Spelling and grammar and story flow,
character development – with my rear being sour…
but now I am done!
Well... at least for some time
until I’ll pick it back up
I might stay here and rhyme.  :-)

Tenacity and dedication will not be denied my dear lady. Though the sacrifices may be many. Glad to hear you have weathered the worst of it. I am behind with my promise to myself to publish my second book by the end of this month. It will not happen without a miracle even though it is 90% written. All of the other work to ensue all is right for publishing takes what seems like an insurmountable period of time. Dedications, editing, proof reading, cover designs, etc, etc. JMW

Finishing a book gives the same satisfaction of those of a farmer ploughing the last line in a field full of crop promises.

When I am editing and proof reading, I often take forced breaks to write poetry or short stories far from the realm of the book I am working on. It gives the mind time to quietly shift gears down into low and then shift back into high when I am ready.
