I Can Think of You Now Without Tears

I'll never understand
why you didn't wait,
but time brings acceptance
and a richness for having loved
and for being loved.
I will always be indebted
for what you gave to me.
Your heart breathed life into mine
and I am me, because there was an us.
I miss your gentle touch,
your whispers in the night,
but now a new touch thrills,
and new eyes overflow with love.
They see the me you were first to find,
and he reaps the love you sowed.
I will never forget what we had, and
I can think of you now without tears
for another has taken your place.

Fantastic write, CJ!
Life goes on, and we all travel a certain path to get where we are. Most of us become shattered, one way or another.
Then, while walking along this path,
and as we pick up the pieces... we bend...we arrive at our destinations,
Here we find that all the pieces somehow fit back together, while life acts like the glue, it reinforces us anew! stronger, with less tears...peaceful with less fears
Loved the way this inspires me...
Love and Peace~

Inspiring piece, CJ. Nothing is more inspiring to the broken hearted than knowing that one person's touch is not sacred. It can be replicated.
Good poem,

We all have had a past love, I suppose. Everyone has his reactions to that. Yours is certainly tender. Victor

This is beautiful yet still a little sad as I contemplate the lost love you so wonderfully once touched your heart. Did he leave for a reason, does he regret leaving, so many questions but yes you are right, once you learn to love once, it is easier to love again if you allow it to happen to you.

Hugs,
Fee

To have such poignant memories of a lost love is exemplary. I have trouble remembering any fallen relationship in my past with fondness. CJ I love this facet of your ruby quill.

Tears water our memories often in such a way as to enable new shoots to grow from the legacy of the foundling seed.

This is a poem that gently touches the keys to the inner heart.

CJ, Letting go is always difficult. You have done an admirable job of bring closure to what once was. First the joy of togetherness, the sorry and pain of separation, the period of mourning that loss, then the healing process, followed by the gift of a replacement, and finally closure and the end of tears. Perfect! I really do admire the ease with which you write and the effectiveness of your words. This, my precious friend, is beautiful. Three cheers!

God Bless
Love and hugs always
