Butterflies: so like love ...

Poem Artwork

Love’s Wings

A butterfly fluttered by,
one of life’s tiny miracles,
a rainbow all within itself,
riding the wind,
so peaceful and free.
It reminded me of love.
If it finds you,
hold it gently
to your heart.
To squeeze it tight,
or chafe its magic,
it, too, will die.
And so it is with me.
Hold me close
with open arms.
Only then, will I feel
free to be with you.

Painted with long, smooth strokes, you let your poetic colours show strongly here, CJ. This lives and breathes and is like a cooling breeze on a humid summer's day. So clearly expressed and non-cloying. And yet the sincere intensity is penetrating. Has all the charm and mesmerising influence of the sight of those glorious opened wings stationary on a petal before your eyes. Gorgeous, thank you. Kate xx

Weak-spirited, possessive men are too often the violators. Since they can't be trusted, they think ill of everyone else.

Your words are so romantically seductive:
"Hold me close with open arms."
You're the master, CJ!

You are right, CJ. Love can be very fragile; as fragile as it is precious. And yet, it is really all that matters. Thank you. Love and peace,

When true love mounts up and reaches its zenith,it's height, and the width of its wingspan is beyond mere mortal comprehension. If by simply touching the tip of love's wing, we burn with passion, how much more it was wrapped around us?

Lovely thoughts to dwell on in this poem, C.J.

Sensational in its soft touching beauty that the mind and heart must hear as quietly as a whisper when it is read, for that is how this one should be presented as a whisper of one's hearts wishes.

The poet Rabindranth Tagore wrote : quote, " love me or kill me, but never abandone me in other's hands", unquote.
