Where the river goes...

I didn't write the words, but I used this as an inscription on the title page to my 1994 manuscript for my Piano Sonata#2 and this verse from the Bible is going in my upcoming book since it belongs to the time period that defined how I feel about this music.
The music link below is a movement from the Sonata recorded on a Midi Piano in 1997: it takes some time to download as it is a full 3 minutes of music but worth it if you love a piano piece filled with different melodies in counterpoint against each other.
NOTE: all the music posted on my poem sites is my own and has registered copyrights on CDs going back in some cases years. You are free to play them but not copy and distribute them without my permission.

Where The River Goes....

[Inscription for my Piano Sonata #2, Move. I orig.1985/Rev. and finished 1995]

 

Then he led me back along the bank of the river.

As I went back, I saw upon the bank, many trees

on the one side                         and on the other.

And he said to me:

          “Wherever the river goes every living creature shall live,

          and there will be very many fish.

          For this sacred water goes there,

          that the waters of the sea may become fresher;

          so that everything will live,

          Where the river goes….”

                                     

                                                                                    Ezekiel 47:6-9

the river provides one of the best philosophical themes to poets, novelists, musicians...the river has a lot to offer with its messages. well chosen

I read your bio and was very impressed. Have you self published all of your works? Including your two novels?

BTW where is the Ocala forest? I was stationed around Bartow and Sebring during WW-II and trudged around in a few of the swamps around Sebring. I wrote about some of those adventures in my book called "A Spoonful of Humor" Is the forest near Sebring?

Your music and your words - I can feel the river coursing through my viens. The images brough forth from your playing are too numerous to pen here, but it so beautifully portrays the river's flow and its magnificence.

I am totally rocked by the depth of expression in your music, Michael. It tells this "story" so accurately... the languid walk along the shore followed by the skipping and tripping of new life as the river runs its course. It is spirit imbued, I find; I have been listening whilst I write on the Den, and yet my spirit is concentrating, moved and responsive to the life inherent in it. Just beautiful and so refreshing.
