Possible Dreams

Children dream of a wonderful tomorrow
Seldom laden with sorrow.
Always, filled with excitement.
For them, dreams are always possible.


Laying on the grass,
Staring at the clouds –
When I grow up
          I want to be …
          And, I want to be …
Such dreams, a possibility.


Commitments of undying friendship abounds.
Their laughter fills the air.
Little girls giggle, saying
          “We’ll always be best friends!”
Boys keep it to themselves
But, in their heart you hear
          “You’ll always be my buddy.”
Such dreams, a reality.


Many dreams from days gone by
I fulfilled when reaching for the sky.
Some dreams exceeded what I’d dreamed.
Some dreams were not as they seemed.
Some dreams remain unfulfilled.
Yet, in dreams, I still trust.
To dream dreams is a must.


Today is another day.
I still dream of a brighter tomorrow.
In my heart, I will always be a dreamer.
For me, achieving my dreams
Is always a possiblity!

Dreams are the realities of life, but "only those who can see the invisible and believe in the impossible"(djb) can feel and create the reality of a dream. Never grow up - only mature.

Great message presented very well! How does the saying go? "Don't take away a person's dreams. Maybe it's all they have." Something like that. How you are writing a lot! Cheers

When we stop dreamin a part of us dies, maybe the soul, maybe the heart or maybe another unnamed organ all its own...whatever it is without it I would not want to live. Keep on dreaming dear Kat.

Immediately coming to mind is the song "Beautiful Dreamer" It's an older ballad, you should look it up, your poem reminds me of it.
