River of Love

When I look into a river, can you guess what I see?
I see the reflection of what your love means to me.
A beautiful rainbow of life’s delight
To share with you, day and night.

The river water’s course is sometimes calm or rushing.
Your love’s strength gets my heart blushing.
The calm reminds me of the strength of your love,
Encouraging me to seek new heights.

Sometimes when I see that the water level is low,
I’m thankful that your love is never shallow.
And, as I gaze into water that is serene,
I’m glad it’s you to whom I cling.

Where the water runs incredibly deep,
Seeping into the depths of God’s earth,
I think of how your love permeates
And saturates my very core.

The river’s debris
Soils the horizon’s majesty,
While the trials of our love
Makes for a stronger you and me.

Below the cliff, I hear the river’s water roar
Falling into a tranquil swimming hole
Echoing the intensity of your love
Pacifying my aching heart and making it restful.

As the sun sets on the river, 
          All life is reflected in its beauty.
Your beauty is reflected in all that you give.
Your love – 
          So incomparable, like the river!
