Carrying the Cross
By Kathy Armijo

Jesus, Your journey to Your death
Carrying such a heavy cross,
You fell three times.
Veronica wiped Your face.
Simon the Cyrenian was made
To help You bear the cross.

The crosses that I have had to bear
Have caused me to fall so many times,
I could just pull out my hair,
And I get extremely mad at You.

Why won’t You take my cross away?
Don’t give it to someone else,
Just take mine away.
Or, wait ‘til I feel stronger.

Then, because You care
You send someone to comfort me
And hold me while I cry.
You send an unsuspecting soul
To brighten up my day
And share this heavy load.

You provide family and friends
To help me on my journey.
They are truly God sent.
They give moral support.
They share advice.
But, most of all
They share their time.

Crosses I will always have to carry.
Yet, with the support You provide,
Through Your grace
And those that I embrace,
I think I can manage quite nicely.

many lessons are hidden to our earthly comprehensions in the crosses we bear, we can carry on for ten earthly years & in the spiritual realm it has been 10 minutes, well I am guessing of course

I really liked reading this reminds me of my own lessons I understand now.

WE do carry our own crosses! Some heavier than others! Some bigger than others!
but, he won't give us more than we can handle!
When he sends someone our way, when we need it most! He knows!

Kathy, I love this poem. We all have our crosses to bear and since the beginning He always sends someone to help carry the load. Funny how it works out that way.

Well Penned Kathy
We were all born to bear our own cross
That is a way of life
Peace be with you

If He doesn't take that cross away...my shoulders are free.
And live not necessarily must go on to please society, we can nurse our pains as we find it fit.
Extraordinary one.

Dear Kathy, it’s beautiful what you wrote,
Humans have to carry the cross,
Be it of wood or anything heavy or rude,
Knowing that we have in common
The silver threads which save us
When something goes wrong or bad.
Thank you, Emile

Kathy, like all people, you are well aware of your problems and feel anger sometimes and ask, "Why?" Your poem starts out that way, but then like sunlight, beauty seeps through the clouds in the gentleness of someone to comfort you. It sounds like hope arriving in the form of human kindness that builds your strength to endure yet another day. Blessings always....

I love it! I like the way you express anger. We seem to be afraid to be angry with God. Following the anger you look to the grace God continues to provide through friends and family. I'll have to see if I posted my poem by Simon about being the one who carried the cross. It's quite long but I feel good about it. If I haven't posted it, I will.

but----this is a great work. Thank you.

Kathy,

You pen my heartfelt cries of 'Why?' so powerfully: I haven't had the crosses you've had to bear, but I've my own. Thank God for friends, thank God for poetry, thank God for His Grace, to make the load a bit easier. Beautiful write.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(
