The Visitation
By Kathy Armijo
Elizabeth was moved when Mary, the mother of Jesus, came to visit her.
Each day I seek your warm embrace, dear Blessed Mother.
I am not worthy of your graciousness.
In humbleness
I seek your guidance.
Your beauty and love surrounds me.
Your arms comfort me.
You bring me to your bosom when I am sad.
You remind me that I am God’s child.
As our Mom, you showed us how to love and live.
Help me cultivate a good and loving heart,
Remembering the need to forgive,
In all that I do.
When my journey is frightening,
I ask for your intercession to Our Lord,
Because I feel unworthy to go straight to Him,
Especially when the pain is numbing.
I ask you to visit my heart,
And your wisdom impart.
Help me respect others
As I’d like to be respected.
I am not worthy that you should visit me,
But I know that you will keep me safe.
You are the best Mother.
Help me be a good mom to all I meet.
I need to visit those [more frequently] who need assistance.
It is in giving that I receive.
In this I truly believe.
I will strive to persevere in being an example set by you.
