The Nativity

Jesus Christ was born in adverse conditions
To remind each of us that we
Have the ability for greatness
Even when our beginnings are humble

By His birth the gates of heaven
Could once again be reopened
Providing us the opportunity to join Him for eternity
The choice is ours

Each of our births gives us an opportunity
To help and love one another
To promote His word
And to share in His all-powerful reward

As He was born to bring about our salvation
We, too, must work with Him
To ensure our salvation
And those of humanity

On the birthday of Christ
I pray as a child –
            Keep my heart clean and pure
            Help me to see the beauty in each person
            To strive to do my best
            To reawaken my passion for goodness
            To trust Him in my life’s journey
            And, thank Him for His wondrous gifts
