and the Donkey today (still many abused) has in some ways suffered the same fate we often give Jesus when he asks us to behave in ways contrary to "our interests" But then we need to make the same journey to humility before we'll know...no other way to truely know Him. You remind us of the almost missed symbolism of Palm Sunday.

I had never thought of it that way... The image your poem brought to mind was one of humility--head down, knowing that He who rode upon his back was mightier than all.

gosh Kathy, I had never thought about it that way before either. we should truly be thankful and honor the donkey..an animal that I personally never think of as an ass, but only the adorable donkey. I am glad to point out that it is not over yet so no such sad ending has he. perhaps we can prevent that sad ending with more poems and writings like this. Thank you.
