The Agony in the Garden (Meditation)

Dear God, you prayed throughout the night,

Knowing that the end of your

Human life was near.

 

You prayed for strength

To do your Father’s will.

 

Right now, my life is heavy.

So much grief and sorrow.

Can I hang on ‘til tomorrow?

 

The agony that I feel

Seems so trivial

In comparison to Yours,

But, pretty darn big for me.

 

Guide my footsteps.

Help me make the right choices.

Keep me safe from evil forces.

 

Enlighten my heart and soul

To do Your will.

 

It is Your strength

That is my salvation.

I know that you will lighten my yoke, somehow.

 

Give me courage and strength, please,

I beg on bended knees.

Beautifully and intensely said and felt Kath!
As your prayers are answered in haste!

A wonderful prayer and meditation for anyday of the year as well as this week. If we can't remind ourselves of His example at this week of the year when will we? This is a wonderful series I should print out to have on hand. Thank you.
