Fulfilling the prophecy of yore

This star announced the birth of the great, I AM

Those who saw this knew His plan …

This child had come to be our savior

In a hovel Our Lord was born

Far from the luxury of his home

Following mandates, His family had been required to roam

Sadly, this baby would eventually feel mans’ scorn

While this light, so bright and strange

Filled the shepherds with trepidation

They moved to it without consternation

Somehow they knew that their lives would be forever changed

If they could have heard the angels sing

And understood the true meaning of this birth

Would they have been able to contain their mirth

Or, simply knelt and proclaimed him savior and king

For all who believe that He is The Light

The one who came to set us free

This birth, His life and death fulfilled His destiny

We are thankful for this blessed night
