circle

i love the fresh air
away from the city
and early song birds
serenade to the morning

so i flew to Saturn
as i remembered something
and sifted through stardust
to find a circle of gold
inscribed on the band is

“we are the ring”

of ancient lore and fairy book tales
to tell the story
that love never fails

it wraps around us
in a circle of warm
each moment ending
where the last one began
