I will not be
in to work today.

My body will be showing
promptly at 8:30am for
all to view until
the end of
the business day.

This does not mean
that it will interact
with treat day
nor does it want tickets
to watch minor league
baseball.

It does not care to
talk to my boss.

It will do it's job
as efficiently as
always.

But I will not be
into work today.

I will be bullfighting
on bar stools and
leering at the ladies.

I will be sharpening
my wits with a pen
on a napkin
in the back
by the jukebox
playing Hollywood
Nocturne

I will be learning
how to spell nocturne.

But I will not waste
one more minute of soul
punching keys and
working levers

My body will perform.

But I will never be
in again.
